JIP Submission Guidelines
Updated February, 1998
JIP accepts both original articles submitted by their authors and previously
printed/posted material submitted WITH THE PERMISSION of the copyright owner.
NOTE: Materials submitted to JIP will be posted on the JIP Web site and distributed by
email to JIP subscribers. Copyright remains with the original author(s) who retain control
over any subsequent use of the material. Anyone seeking permission to reproduce material
that appears in JIP will be referred to the original author(s) or the copyright owner. JIP
and ARRAY Development neither endorse nor necessarily agree with views expressed by
contributors.
-
We prefer articles that focus on issues, trends, initiatives and case studies rather
than on technical details. We are particularly interested in hearing from contributors
with a clear focus on Internet purchasing issues.
-
Articles should be a maximum of 1,500 words, but 500 to 600 is far better. A good
way to keep your article short is to focus on one issue at a time. Save your other ideas
for subsequent or separate articles. Extensive background material, large graphs and
detailed tables should be posted on author's own Web site and cited in the text.
-
BEFORE submitting your article (or the item you have permission from the copyright
owner to submit), contact Editor Fred Sollish at sollish@worldnet.att.net.
Authors familiar with HTML should use the Submission Template below.
Include your name, title, biographical details, email and Web addresses in the format
presented in the Template. For all articles submitted as an email message or a TEXT (.txt)
attachment, we request that all text paragraphs be preceeded by < p> to facilitate
easy conversion to HTML.
-
You must also provide a 150 to 200 word abstract of your article for distribution to
JIP email subscribers. You may also submit your abstract to the Social Science Resource
Network which distributes abstracts of journal articles to over 14,000 subscribers around
the world. See http://www.ARRAYdev.com/commerce/jip/guid-abs.htm
for submission instructions.
-
Your article will be posted on the Web site as soon as we receive it and the text
has been reviewed and approved by the JIP editorial board. The email edition is
distributed approximately every two to three months.
-
JIP reserves the right to reject any article without explanation.
-
If author(s) fail to provide a synopsis of their article, JIP reserves the right to
select an excerpt for the email edition. We ask that authors check their article on the
Web site to ensure no text has been lost in the posting process. JIP reserves the right to
edit letters to the editor.
-
Articles that promote a particular product or service rather than providing analysis
or evaluation will be referred to the JIP advertising department. One of
our goals is to identify knowledgeable individuals in each key subject area and geographic
region willing to serve as Contributing Editors. Click Here
to find out more.
We look forward to working with you. We are attracting an audience from among the
professional elite in the emerging field of Internet purchasing. Your articles will help
JIP make an important contribution to the transfer of knowledge on a global scale.
