Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) initial IPS Marketplace implemented in the National Capital Area has been designed to provide automated procurement tools to the departments and open up the Federal Government's informatics market to a wider supplier base. The goal of this reengineering project was jointly with the SIPPS personnel to radically improve user interface, interactivity and serviceability of the IPS Marketplace and to swiftly reposition a mission-critical Extranet channel for dealing with the key IPS stakeholders.

The IPS Marketplace site provides information on the IPS Marketplace process to suppliers and government agencies. It also makes it easier to interactively register suppliers and government buyers, undertake transactional delivery of administrative services and gather clients feedback.
