ARRAY Development, in collaboration with staff or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), designed a Windows NT based Web server to replace a UNIX-based server. The principal objective of the project was to maximize value by carefully selecting low to moderate cost solutions that assure good technological quality, have high probability of market success and will not require substantial investments to upgrade as more advanced technologies emerge in the years ahead. A very important goal was to minimize maintenance costs and simplify technical support. The Project had three principal phases. The first Research phase identified options and used a rapid prototyping process to verify that Windows NT is an emerging technology in which INAC could confidently invest. Server development was the second phase. System integration and support for transfer of the existing INAC Web site to the new server completed the project.
